Review on Aetertek AT-919C - Rechargeable and Waterproof Ultra Range Remote Training Shock Collar for 2 Dogs with Auto Anti-Bark Feature (1100 Yard) by Julie Geier

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Beware of burns and not for unsupervised use to control bark as directed.

I bought this product because of the features it offers with both bark control and manual override. But I warn you not to leave bark control at all unless you control it within earshot. This will happen and go away on its own, and if you're not in the kennel to keep an eye on it, you risk injuring your pets. Both of my dogs had burns, one had severe burns where the teeth were when the bark was left on it. Maybe because of the intensity setting his was worse than hers (he was 9, she was 6 as he is my loudest pup). I'm not sure how long this went on or how he got so hot that he burned his flesh, but I'm extremely disappointed in this product as a result. (For those who want to comment, I shouldn't have left them unattended - the product advertises being able to have a quiet kennel and that you can do it is what I've relied on camping and failed miserably. ) My first Impression was good once I understood the controls and how to connect the remote control and receivers. It was pretty easy. They work well for manual override while we're camping and the battery lasted 2 days before needing a recharge. The remote control is still on the first charge and still shows a full battery after 1 month of use. When connecting the remote control to the receiver, you must ensure that the selected dog (1 or 2) is shown on the screen and the bark control is not activated. The remote control does not pair with the receiver when it is turned on. During pairing, only turn on one receiver at a time. When you take the receiver out of the charger, it turns on automatically and you can pair it immediately. The remote security feature, when blocked by simultaneously pressing the intensity arrows on the side for 3 seconds, is a good feature to avoid accidentally hitting the remote and falsely sending a fix. Now we only use manual corrections and at no time leave collars on them except when they are with us due to the possibility of burning them again. Collars are put on at the door and removed upon return. So in the end it gets 2 stars for features that work correctly and loses 3 stars for those that don't. If, like me, you want to get this for bark control, I would strongly recommend spending the extra money on a Garmin model with bark control, which it has a better reputation for being more accurate with. For now it's doing its manual correction job and once I've saved up enough we'll be buying a Garmin as a replacement.
