It's good, but there's a downside

I like the wide, stable base. It is best to use it on a large stove, otherwise it will take longer to cook. The instructions say to dry it after each use. I didn't do it because of the hassle factor. In the last 2-3 months of owning this kettle the interior has remained bright and shiny. I assume that depends on your water quality? The downside is that the insulation on the grip and upper arm is cheap, almost as a second thought. Great kettle, poor handle insulation. One of the most obvious flaws is the small insulating sleeve on the upper arm. He doesn't hold on and keeps sliding back. I'm considering using a good quality silicone sealant to keep it in place. Main handle insulation is too short. It took me a few hand burns to make sure I was holding my hand further than comfortable or using insulating fabric around the handle. If the black shell was an extra 1/2 inch longer I suspect the problem would be solved. I would prefer a kettle that whistles louder than this one. If I'm in the same room, no problem, but if I go to the next room. it's too quiet for my ears so always bring a kitchen clock to remind me when the kettle is on. This is a great product apart from some grip isolation issues and a slightly noisier whistle.
