Wrong size for IRWIN hole saw!

I bought an IRWIN Hole Saw and the recommended IRWIN Mandrel and it's nowhere near compatible! The diameter of the middle thread is completely different. It would be nice if they mated them properly as driving them with a hole saw without a mandrel is pointless!
