This product was used to protect the patio and gate. Our deck is top notch and we wanted to make the deck safer for our cats and small children (when they arrive). I was able to get them at Revain for a fraction of the cost compared to stores near me. The icing on the cake was the free two-day shipping. Our deck is now safe for your cats. I'm not sure how it will handle Minnesota winters, but we'll find out soon enough; Reviews showed good use in cold weather. We won't be using our patio in winter so it just needs to survive the cold. Update, it's been 2 years now and we're still enjoying a hassle free decking experience. Cats and grandchildren are safe to this day thanks to this product. And FYI, this product weathered the Minnesota winter and unusually hot and humid summer very well. Still looks as good as the day it was installed.
