I am using this with a SpectraPure Max Cap RO/DI filter. I bought the latter because my tap water contains silicates that cause brown diatoms when I change the water. The problem is that the water pressure in my faucet has reached 38psi. As a result, it took 3 1/2 hours to produce 5 gallons of water. For every gallon of filtered water, I also threw away 7 gallons. The Smart Buddy amp solved all my problems right away. It will automatically pressurize to about 90psi. This more than doubled the rate at which filtered water is produced, so I only have to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes to get 5 gallons. Wastewater volume has been reduced from 7 gallons to 1 1/2 per gallon. The best part is that I literally don't have to do anything. The booster pump turns on and off automatically. I just left it on 24/7. It also cleans up automatically. The decor was pretty reasonable too. You need to understand what stage the booster fits into (before the reverse osmosis filter), but other than that it's easy. The cost is also amazing at $133. I originally wanted to buy a $199 SpectraPure booster pump that didn't include automatic features and would have been much less attractive.
