Review on 🚗 Bilstein 24-185622 BE5-6255-H5 5100 Series Gas Shock Absorber: Enhanced Suspension Performance at Its Best by Mark Hobbs

The amazing shocks fitted to my 96 XJ with a 3 inch lifter have dramatically improved the ride quality making it more responsive and adaptable both on and off road did. If you've never bought a premium shock like Bilstein before, make it your first. (They knock Quadratec, Pro-Trash, Junk Country out of the water.) They don't soften under hard braking or pop on washboards. I can't imagine what a difference that made to the handling of my XJ. Just make sure you don't overtighten the top by leaving about 1/2 inch of the bolt sticking out. If the shock spins you can also hold it with a hex/torx, I just used my hand. I will note that the boots are black as shown in the picture (I bought yellow boots). The trickiest part is the driver's side, which is under the brake booster and is tight without a socket wrench. I used a 3/8 drive and a swinging extension and had no problems. All in all I couldn't be happier. Buy them when you need them! (see photos)
