Review on X-Acto 1041 Model l Table or Wall-Mount πŸ–‹οΈ Pencil Sharpener, Chrome Receptacle, Black Base - 1 Unit by Kristen Reid

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Soon, students from different classes came to use these sharpeners (as in the message on 6/10)

I am an elementary school teacher and have been using the school electric sharpener for many years. They typically didn't last more than two months before they broke, wouldn't sharpen, or the gears made a loud grinding noise. The students worked for several minutes before reaching an acceptable score. On September 17th I decided to see what was available in "old school" crank sharpeners. I settled on an X-Acto 1041 (didn't want students fiddling with the selector on the front) and ordered 2 out of my own pocket. After I installed them on the existing wooden blocks of the wall, the students went crazy over them. They could sharpen a pencil in just 2 or 3 turns. Soon, students from different classes came to use these sharpeners (just like in the 6/10 post). Word got around and our principal ordered one of these sharpeners for each classroom and installed them for maintenance. But, as someone else pointed out, the screws that come with the sharpener are soft metal and can be easily removed. I would buy better ones at the hardware store.

Pros
  • All-metal construction
Cons
  • Some mistakes
