Love the idea of these knives and was glad my kids got to help out in the kitchen. One of the very first times we used them, I had the kids cut strawberries. I haven't seen any other reviews that said strawberries stain knives and I think strawberries would be a natural first choice for any parent who wants their kids to learn how to cut food so it's amazing how easy they are stain these knives. The knives pictured have been cleaned and washed in the dishwasher at least 4 times and the middle one was finally cleaned with a bartender friend, which helped a little but didn't completely remove the stains. I don't usually bother coloring while the tool is still running, but since they are used to teach kids I want them to look clean so the kids understand we don't use dirty cooking tools. Maybe I'll just have to throw them away and find something easier to keep clean.
