Review on πŸ” Secure your Yakima Car Rack System Components with YAKIMA - SKS Lock Cores: Ultimate Theft Protection by Chris Cooper

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy installation, ease of use, good value for money

Yakima SKS locking cores for Yakima SKS equipped rods. Perfect fit of course. I appreciate the included control button. I see some complaints that these locks are too weak. Let me put some perspective: I have a set of Yak handlebars that I got from a junk yard car. The straps were locked on the Junker, but I still got them without breaking the Yakima turrets (which the Junkers' roof rails don't). When I got the bars home I drilled out the cores and replaced them with a set ordered here from Revain. This means that the gratings can also be removed if they are blocked. To do this you need to dismantle or destroy the roof rack of the car, but this is possible. But how many thieves really want to make that much noise and movement for so long? Of course, you can use a clawed hammer to directly pry open the tower lock and remove the bolt, but a thief will not want to sell broken bolts. Your best bet is to get 4 lock cores and lock both sides of each bolt. . It would be a big headache to steal bars. If you're only sticking with one core per pole, install a lock on each side of your roof; For example, block the front rung on the left side of the roof and the rear rung on the right side of the roof. As a result, the thief needs twice as long to rip out the grid.
