Very good accessory that fits on my kayak roof rack so I can be sure they will still be in my car when I come back from kayaking or go shopping. An installation tip is to install them into the device they are intended to secure first BEFORE placing the device on the car and tightening it down. The locks slide easily into the unit when the lock slot is in the horizontal position (at least that's how they were installed on the J-style kayak racks I've used them on).

It's good to have multiple cars/tower systems/boxes to have the same locks on all so you don't have to have multiple keys. These lock cores are easy to install if you already have the matching key AND the original master key that comes with the original cores and keys (you will need this for installation). Bought these new SKS locks for my used Yakima setup. Installation was amazingly simple and light for my bars and fairing. I agree with other reviewers that a determined thief will be able to pick these locks in the right place with little effort. But what they offer is a first deterrent for the casual thief who doesn't understand how they work. I bought two Yakima Highroads for my car's roof rack. These are great bike mounts and offer the option to add Yakima SKS locking bars to lock the back of the mount, as well as add a lock to the included security loop.
