Useful Kitchen Timer

This is a comparison test: Component Design CDN TM30 Direct Entry 2-Alarm Timer and Ultrak Count-Up/Down Timer appear to be the same electronic "guts" in different cases and packaging. Displays, buttons, beeps and functionality are identical; Cases, packaging and instructions are different. The CDN beep sounds a bit louder, probably due to the body mute, and only the CDN has a beep/vibrate switch. The CDN is a little more readable in low light, likely due to the different transparent plastic in the body windows. CDN has a metal front panel and a plastic back cover; The case of the Ultrak is made entirely of plastic. The "Magnetic Back Clip and Easel Stand" pop-up looks identical. The CDN instructions are larger and easier to read, but the Ultrak sheet has a more helpful illustration. A star is deducted for the fact that the start and stop functions are on a common button and that no timer overflow is saved when stopping - overshoot should be taken into account. before stopping. I prefer the design with start and stop/reset buttons. I generally prefer the CDN block, but Ultrak is just as useful.
