The steering on my 2002 Blazer was a bit loose and could wobble while driving. I thought it might be the steering, but since the intermediate lever was also a little loose and a lot easier to replace, I decided to start with that first. Easy to switch! The hardest part was separating the tapered bolt from the center link. I figured a few hammer blows might loosen it, but ended up using a gear puller I already had (I don't have a bipod arm puller that's actually recommended for this job), which worked really well. In my case I had to tighten the puller more than I thought I needed. And when it got free, it made a loud clicking noise. Make sure you mark where the old tensioner arm attaches to the frame as the mounting holes are oblong and need to maintain the same ratio that the existing one was installed. I used a pointed stick and scraped around the old bracket and installed the new one in the exact same position. Don't forget to install grease fittings and actually add lube before operating the vehicle again. I estimated that I worked on the whole job for about an hour and a half from start to finish. Nothing complicated, just take your time and return everything the way you removed the old one.
