Fibromyalgia help: my feedback

I have fibromyalgia and there are times when I am actually capable of good exercise like a walking hike or an entire week of working in my gardens. I found using these as evening splints helps my ankles greatly! I tried the most popular first. The problem was that they are 10-inches long. I am 5'8" tall and female. The long ones strapped well above the rotational part of my ankle and did little good for what I was looking for. I decided to find shorter ones. I suggest looking for no longer than 9 inches for a man or woman. These are 8 1/4" and I found them to be perfect. They position the sides and the area just below the ankle bone.which is absolutely where I needed splinting.I also tried the material wrap-type ankle supports. They squeezed my foot and the sides of my heel too much. With Fibro this in very painful.Regretfully, there were only two brands that gave size options. One was twice the price as these and I assumed the half price were knock-offs. I decided to give these cheaper braces a chance first. Glad I did. They work just fine and take a little more than half the pain away. Which definitely makes things more bearable and treatable for pain using over the counter medications for pain.

Pros
  • I have an arthritic ankle ——this support is perfect to keep ankle straight and stabilize it
Cons
  • The brace might not fit comfortably for people with larger feet
