Fibromyalgia help: my feedback

I have fibromyalgia and there are times when I am actually capable of good exercise like a walking hike or an entire week of working in my gardens. I found using these as evening splints helps my ankles greatly! I tried the most popular first. The problem was that they are 10-inches long. I am 5'8" tall and female. The long ones strapped well above the rotational part of my ankle and did little good for what I was looking for. I decided to find shorter ones. I suggest looking for no longer…

Pros
  • I have an arthritic ankle ——this support is perfect to keep ankle straight and stabilize it
Cons
  • The brace might not fit comfortably for people with larger feet

Does the job its made to do

It gives my sprained ankle much more support than the brace I got from the doctors office and costs way less. The only problem i have is the velcro that holds the straps to the hard plastic is barely secured. Make sure to use extreme caution when undoing it so you dont pull it off completely.

Pros
  • This provided ideal support to nurse a sprained ankle. Comfortable and supportive.
Cons
  • Despite of great feedback of other users I have actually counted for.. the product did not work for me.

Got this for my brother - didn't work for him.

From my brother: I normally wear a Zamst A2-DX ankle brace, which works well and provides good support but can be tricky to put on and I need to wear socks and shoes with it. I was hoping to use this brace just around the house, with flip-flops or equivalent. Didn't work. I found it hard to put on; the instructions aren't the clearest and the various pieces kept slipping. For my foot/ankle problem it didn't provide the support that I need (at least without shoes). Giving it 2 stars only because

Pros
  • Braces, Splints & Supports
Cons
  • The brace might be too expensive for some customers

Awesome,.BUT! best in my review

Best, most comfortable ankle brace that I have purchased and there have been many.BUT when the designer gets to hell, I hope he has to spend eternity putting one on! It is a ordeal, but again, the best, most comfortable ankle brace that I have ever had!

Pros
  • China
Cons
  • The brace might be difficult to clean or maintain

I have had this brace for about two years, but I only use it once in awhile because the strap system is weak. At most, I've worn it 24 times in the last two years. The supports have velcro "dots" glued to the sides to help align/adjust the straps, but those "dots" did not last long; they just disappeared in a few weeks, so the straps are free to move along the sides of the brace, which makes for a poor fit, and alignment. Now, after light use, the velcro on the straps do not even hold for a few…

Pros
  • Can be worn all day for extended support
Cons
  • The gel pads might cause skin irritation or allergic reactions

Good for sprains - my new review

I have some ankle damage from Type 2 diabetes. Most ankle supports are too small. So I gave this a try.Another reviewer said it takes some fiddling and they're right. It's the kind of thing that would be perfect if you had a trainer putting it on. But I didn't. I got it reasonable snug, generally comfortable, but that night I had some swelling above it.I wish the Velcro straps (Plenty long++) both attached the same, but one wraps clockwise, and the other counterclockwise. That means one of the…

Pros
  • Decreases the chances of developing chronic ankle issues
Cons
  • The brace might be too rigid for some individuals, limiting mobility

Distance in the back is set permanently

The sides are solid and they have a nice cavity for your ankle to go into. Unfortunately, I have a fairly large foot a men's size 10 wide, and though I bought the grace size marked for my foot it still doesn't sit evenly on both sides of my ankle because it's attached around the back and it doesn't quite reach. This brace does require a shoe to work and I would probably be very happy with it if it was a little wider across the straps and back. I can't change it

Pros
  • Medical Supplies & Equipment
Cons
  • It might limit range of motion for certain activities

Surprisingly comfortable, despite a flaw

The good: Stabilises the ankle without compromising ability to walk at all, easy to use and adjust. The bad: Despite sizing this according to their chart, I feel it's still a little on the long side, stirrup was useless.I severely sprained my ankle a couple of months back and have nearly resprained it twice in the process of trying to get it to heal. Deciding I didn't want to risk breaking my ankle, I caved and bought an ankle brace that provided stability, making it hard (if not impossible) to…

Pros
  • Great for those with a history of ankle injuries
Cons
  • It might be difficult to find replacement gel pads for the brace

what I needed: my feedback

In the past, I had such an ankle brace. Somewhere in the move across the country, I lost track of it. This summer, I again sustained an injury to my left ankle, this time very serious. Once my walking cast was removed, I needed something for stability that was also suitable for driving. Since I do not have a very large car, the floor space (even with just an automatic transmission) was too tight to allow safe use of the huge boot I was given. An ankle brace was the ideal solution so I looked…

Pros
  • Easy to put on and adjust for a secure fit
Cons
  • The brace might be difficult to customize for a perfect fit

Good brace using it at home, doesn't fit most of the shoes

I had a fibula fracture, was in walking boot and needed some brace after getting out of the walking boot. This brace is good for home but did not fit any of my shoes. I even tried to go a size up with a shoe. I use it home bare foot or with sock and helps with the healing but if you are looking for a brace that fits in shoes or boots then this is not for you.

Pros
  • Machine washable for easy cleaning
Cons
  • It might not be as durable as other ankle braces on the market

Best ankle brace EVER!

I highly recommend the ankle brace. I love this brace. I recently had a bad sprained ankle and this brace saved me. It keeps it very stable so I can walk without reimbursing my ankle. It is very well made. You can take the gel pads out and chill if you want to. I love the gel pads because it just the right amount of soft cushion and stability. This brace has 2 Velcro straps which makes it very stable and also very adjustable to your sizing and comfort needs. This brace which last decades, very…

Pros
  • Allows for adjustable compression to control swelling
Cons
  • The brace might not be available in certain sizes or colors

Very supportive brace to prevent ankle rolls

I just received it and didn't know what to expect, but I am surprised at how effective this brace is. I wear it with a sock and a normal compressions sleeve, a $6 dollar ACE from Walmart. I have had a bad ankle since I was in high school and it rolls very, very easily.1 FIT) They have one for the left leg and one for the right leg and it fits quite well. I have large, muscular calves, but an ankle that is just average sized. The foam padding is effective at making the fit comfortable.2…

Pros
  • Stylish design
Cons
  • The gel pads might not provide adequate cushioning for some users

Great quality in my review

Great quality. Straps weren’t itchy. 10x better than the one from my doctor. I had a fracture in my ankle and this helped heal it. Being able to put the cold packs on the freezer was a life saver.Update: still great but the side strap is almost completely unstuck. I’ll have to get more elastic to fix it. They don’t send any replacements.

Pros
  • AMAZING DESIGN & PERFECT MATCH
Cons
  • The gel pads might develop a strong odor over time

The comfort and stability it has given me while I walk.

Right now I am using it because I have an injured ankle due to a fall from the last step of the stairs. I am 80 yrs old! This ankle brace, obviously, will not heal but it has help a lot in my walk . It has help my stability and comfort. Besides, it is not expensive at all. I am glad I bought it.

Pros
  • Recommended by doctors and physical therapists
Cons
  • The brace might shift or move during sleep, leading to discomfort or pain

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great brace but if injury is in correct place

Great brace. If injury is in wrong place, it will rub against it. Once it isn’t to painful, it will be great for stability and non rolling of the ankle

Pros
  • BETTER PAIN RELIEF AND INJURY SUPPORT
Cons
  • The brace might not provide sufficient support for severe injuries

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great but the velcro could be better

My only complaint is the velcro on it will not stay after a couple of months of use. We've now purchased our 3rd one in 6 months. It gives great support better than anyone he has tried but by the second month of using it he is having to use tape in order to keep it on.

Pros
  • Health & Household
Cons
  • The gel pads might shift around and not stay in place during use

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great support, but coming unsewn

I really like the fit and support of this brace, although it was not as easy to put on at first. Takes some getting use to. My only complaint is that one of the straps is already coming unsewn after only a weeks use.( see photo). I can still use the product, and bought a second as a spare, ( before I discovered the issue with the first) but still.after only one week?Hopefully it will not affect the products usefulness, and will not get any worse, because I prefer this model much more than the…

Pros
  • Mens
Cons
  • The brace might be too bulky to wear with some clothing items

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Loose and unsupportive

I am hesitant to leave a bad review because I do not know much about splints, but this one did not work for me and my specific injury. I wear a Womens size 5-6 and ordered a small. It Doesn’t feel too big so much as it feels loose in the wrong area. The base of the ankle is where I need support, and this brace feels loose there, with no ability to tighten that specific area. It doesn’t seem to be made for acute support in all directions, maybe more of a strict left/right support for larger…

Pros
  • B07KZVG9GD
Cons
  • The brace might cause discomfort or irritation for people with sensitive skin

I wish there was an option for both foam and gel pads

It's great at stabilizing my weak and injured ankle, first and foremost. As long as I'm wearing it I'm not concerned about buckling. The issue for me is that I have to take it off to chill the pads and I've further injured myself during those gaps. Also, as relieving as the gel pads are, they aren't breathable and I wish I could just order an extra pair of foam pads for it instead of having to buy a whole new brace

Pros
  • Lightweight for maximum comfort
Cons
  • The gel pads might retain moisture, leading to discomfort or odor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good if you need to do a lot of icing

Loved the gel, pads because I needed to do a lot of icing, but the support was less than I wished for. It is possible to get it misaligned slightly making it very uncomfortable. Also the gel pads are thin and don’t stay cold very long. For me it was better to use when off my feet following a broken ankle. It did not provide enough support and compression for walking with unless I put another wrap around it.

Pros
  • Provides great support for those with weak ankles
Cons
  • The brace might not be suitable for elderly or disabled individuals
