Review on 🖤 Black 8-Pack Chassis Hard Drive Mounting Plastic Rails by Eshylala by Richard Sallah

I'll start my review by not knowing these are Cooler Master brand hard drive rails. Product images on Revain confirm this after further analysis. I bought these rails expecting them to be generic Chinese mounting rails and was pleasantly surprised to see the CM logo on them. The rails themselves are good, have rubber mounts for the screws and appear to be of sufficient quality for their purpose. But beware of the supplied "screws"! Those aren't screws! The included "screws" for attachment are not cross engraved for use with a screwdriver, and the "screws" are not actually threaded; they are threadless! Due to the design of the included screws, they are essentially push pins resembling small thumbscrews (again, they are unthreaded). To use them you must slide them into the drive by friction by inserting them into the rubber screw holes. You have to apply some pressure so it actually sits there and not back. Not very difficult but if you use your finger/nail it is uncomfortable and not very easy. To mount the rails and included screws to your drive I would recommend using a simple knob as shown in my product images. This should provide enough leverage to safely and easily install the mounting pins. To sum up my review, I think the plastic splints themselves are fine and will certainly get the job done. I'm not happy with my purchase but I think the mounting pins that come with the kit are a little disappointing for the money. They're technically "tool-less" but a bit finicky, and based on their design, I think the only way to remove the mounting pins is to pull on the plastic guides and hope that uses that to pull the pins out. I give this product 5 stars out of 5 mainly because I will likely buy another set in the future and there isn't a critical design flaw that would prevent you from using real screws. I wish this product was a dollar or two cheaper. While the product gets 5 stars, the ease of use and installation only gets 4 stars due to the mounting pins.
