Review on 📻 BAOFENG UV-5X (UV-5G) GMRS Radio: Long Range, NOAA Alerts, Rechargeable, Chirp Support - 1 Pair by Jim Plump

I used these on a week long fishing trip in Montana and they worked great. I knew they weren't waterproof and one of them got wet when I fell in the water while wading. The radio went haywire, but I took out the battery, let it dry for a day, and it's working fine again. This radio has many great features. The ability to program channels outside of the GMRS frequencies is great for listening purposes. Obviously due to FCC requirements he will not be broadcasting on those channels. The light also helped. The battery life is also very good. I was able to use them for several days between charges. One feature I would have liked to see on these radios was a channel selector knob that allows you to change channels while the keypad is locked. Not a big deal, but it would be very handy. I'm still waiting for Chirp to be compatible with this radio but the Baofeng software worked great when programming.
