I certainly don't know how it will behave over time since I've just built my deck but I think time will tell. My rating concerns the ease of installation, the performance and the quality of the material. Goes down very easily. Simply peel and stick. Cut and fold excess material around the edges and corners. Very sticky. Adheres to both unpainted and painted wood. It won't stick to wood I've just coated with copper naphthanate. That is clear. After the copper naftanate had weathered for a few days, it adhered much better. The material is dense (contains a lot of bitumen), which is good. I understand why this product claims to work. I can't imagine water sitting on joists/beams and letting them rot now that this is down.
