Powered hubs like this are the only hubs I like to use. Without plug-in power, you can overload what the USB bus can handle. So if you use things like external hard drives with a hub, this guy is for you. It has a good finish. It feels like it's a combination of metal and plastic, and the little rubber feet on the base keep it from moving. It's a little light though, so some movement may be inevitable. A nice touch are the little blue LEDs that let you know when a particular port is active when you press the corresponding button. Overall I'm very happy with this little hub!
