Review on Suction Cup Phone Holder: Adjustable Arm, Low Profile Dashboard & Windshield Mount Stand - Compatible with All iPhone and Android Cell Phones - by APPS2Car by Paul Andrews

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Has already fallen off

I taped this to one of the few straight smooth sections of the dashboard, following the directions, first wiping the area with their tissue paper etc. It doesn't stick well. I didn't want anything tacky in the long run, and I wanted something that would allow for portrait mode, which is actually my favorite thing to look at my screen when using navigation. All good heavy anti-slip shoes only had a slot where you could hold them. in landscape mode, so I chose this view, which allows for both. I still use it, but I lean my phone against the edge of the dash so it stays in place while driving. The last thing I want is for my phone to fly off when I turn a corner; This will happen with my old vent mount because my car has weird vents that won't work with it. (I used the vent mount in my old Prius for years, no problem. Was great.) However, if I have to park it near the edge, I can't charge it at the same time. Less than perfect; With all the options available, it's hard to know what works without constant dash markings. It's not very good for me, but I'll do it for a while and look for better options. Before that I had one installed on glass with a magnetic mount. High score, etc. The phone still flew, the mug fell off at random, although all the instructions for use were followed. To be honest I think it has something to do with the New England weather. Air and materials expand/contract rapidly with temperature changes. But I figured a dash mount would solve that problem - less temperature change than a window pane - and so far it hasn't.
