Review on πŸ”§ 3/8"DR Ratchet with 1/4"DR Ratchet Handle: Ultimate Precision and Versatility by John Rivera

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice. Can be improved.

The simple forging is as beautiful as anything Tiffany has ever made. The selector switch is not processed that well. The mechanism never slips and the selector switch is crucial, but everything has more play than necessary. For me the handle is longer than necessary. I'm a bit picky because this tool is so close to perfection. Wright, if you're wondering, here's what you can do to achieve this: shorten the LOA from 3+(1/2) to 4 inches, increase the number of teeth to 60 (or even better 80), add add another pawl If possible, improve the surface finish of the selector for strength and reduce tolerances to reduce wobble. Offer flexible head model and offset model. Others may disagree with some of my suggestions because they relate to the niche this tool fills for me, which is low torque only in hard-to-reach places. I never use this tool for non-pull or final tightening; I always use a jackhammer for this, so I'm not too concerned about the strength of the mechanism. I want it to fit in a limited space and have a minimal angle of rotation.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
