Large boxed zinc plated wood screws are very soft and break easily, especially in hardwood or with an impact wrench. They hold up surprisingly well and I haven't taken any off yet. Even with an impact wrench in red oak without a pilot hole. I will buy them again. I also like the black finish versus the big box brand's zinc finishes. The black finish doesn't chip when pounded in and better suits the types of projects I use them on when I'm not covering them with plugs or putty. The black finish also makes them perfect for things like car audio and other electronics. For example, installing speakers in a speaker cabinet. The black screws disappear along with the color of the speaker bezel and it looks very tidy. These screws are great.
