This stand was well packaged and my 8 inch tablet fits perfectly on it. The hinges are very stiff, so the weight of the tablet shouldn't be an issue when moving them. The extra wide base provides stability, but I wish the entire base was just painted black instead of having a shiny silver beveled edge. This is of course a matter of personal taste. At least the beveled edge doesn't feel as sharp as I thought it would, so don't worry about that. I had to deduct one star because my item had a fairly long scratch on the bottom that ended in a small nick through the paint and into the metal. As it's in a place you wouldn't normally see I have no plans to return it but it's still a pain to get one like this. All in all I can only recommend this tablet if you have a good tablet.
