This stand was well packaged and my 8 inch tablet fits perfectly on it. The hinges are very stiff, so the weight of the tablet shouldn't be an issue when moving them. The extra wide base provides stability, but I wish the entire base was just painted black instead of having a shiny silver beveled edge. This is of course a matter of personal taste.
