Review on Acrylic Crochet Hook Gift Set by Crystalites: 12409 by Jennifer Roberts

I've been gradually replacing some old Boye hooks that have the hook head extending well beyond the hook body. I was at a craft fair a while ago and someone doing a demo explained that some people find it easier to get an even thickness with hooks that have the head of the hook threaded like this and in line with the body of the hook . . After hearing this I realized that the hooks that were the hardest for me to crochet had a different shape and I find them to be faster and more convenient to work with. I've found that some threads slide over metal hooks more easily. than acrylics, so I have each type on hand in most sizes. The set arrived taped to the plastic sleeve to prevent anything from slipping out. but it was so sticky it's sticking to other things now. :( I ended up removing all the hooks from their cases and not leaving them there. Each hook is labeled with both a letter and mm which reduces the size of the base (as opposed to the finger grip area where a lot of the metal hooks that I have have L from here connected end to end to a metal L from Susan Bates and they were exactly the same diameter Attached is a photo of a Boye hook (metal) and a hook from this set (Boye's hook is size N, Crystalites is size L, I wanted to take the same size in each one, but after taking pictures I realized that I didn't have them.)
