After almost 4 months of use I can say this is without a doubt the best can opener I have ever owned including various electric can openers like Well. Over the years I've bought different types of can openers from different vendors and none - absolutely none - have worked as well as this one. In fact I would give a zero or possibly negative rating to all other openers that I have owned except for one electric opener that I have owned for many years which I would rate a 3. This opener is a solid 5 and is only the one I use now. I will say this though: there is a tendency to really squeeze (and I mean choke on the handles) this opener when I rotate the handle. This stems from my sad history with manual can openers. It was necessary to press hard so that the cutting edge continued to drive through the metal. I have to remind myself to relax, to relax, to give the instrument a rest. It clicks into place and only a small amount of force is required to sever the glass with a simple twist of the handle. But I understand why a couple of angry customers broke the bottle opener; For years, everyone had to physically wrestle with the device to get it to work, and even then it didn't work properly. Therefore, I think that all of us who had such a pathetic history with this device, of course, when we first receive this product, we will attack this product with hammer and tongs. You will be surprised how quickly and easily you can open a jar. For real. It's almost effortless.
