Overview A simply amazing lens. I am a professional photographer and videographer and only use this lens with my GH5 for video. I've never taken a single picture with my GH5 so I can't comment on the photographic capabilities of this lens, but for video it exceeded my expectations. This lens delivers buttery smooth wide-open bokeh, is weatherproof when paired with the GH5, and has fast autofocus. I usually use hybrid autofocus with this lens and sometimes manual focus when it doesn't focus properly. Complaints from other users I've read several reviewers complaining about this lens, saying it's "too big". C'mon folks, you need to know how to read lens specs before buying a lens like this; It's not a wide angle lens and I wouldn't use it on a gimbal or anything other than a tripod. With the right video tripod, or even a sturdy monopod, you can stabilize this lens properly and focus on the scene, not the stability. This is a full frame 70-200mm equivalent lens. My experience I bought this lens mainly for event photography where you are usually too far away to shoot with a wide angle lens. This lens is great for event photography as it delivers a really shallow depth of field when zooming in and taking close-up shots. For one shot I used this 100mm lens with the teleconverter feature in the GH5 and shot in 4K so I gave the client 1080p in the post so I could zoom back in 2x which gave me a sharp sharp little picture gave . The depth of field in FF equivalent is almost 600mm! And all with this tiny lens. The footage was just amazing. So if you're looking for a GH5 lens that's great for events, has an extremely shallow depth of field, is weatherproof, and you know what it takes to properly stabilize a 70-200mm FF equivalent lens, you won't be disappointed . this lens. Also, autofocus works with this lens, so you can save time with hybrid autofocus, like I do, and I love the focus transition feature on the GH5. I use it in properly locked scenes all the time, but it only works if you're using native lenses that support autofocus. Conclusion. This lens has become my go-to lens for interviews (for shallow depth of field), events (for long distances) and cinematic looks (buttery bokeh). If you're looking for a lens for your Crane or Ronin S this probably isn't the right lens, but if you have a good tripod with a moving video head and you want a great lens with some range then this is probably your best option. gets for GH5. Oh, and if you're a wedding videographer, stop reading this now and buy this lens now, you can thank me later.
