Rubs plastic into food

I usually love Joseph Joseph so I was very disappointed when this one was so poorly designed. I bought two of these hoping the first one was defective, but the sheaths on both were too tight. With the first one, I couldn't easily remove the cover as there was a large piece of plastic cover inside the grater. When I pulled the sheath out, I ended up scratching my finger and tearing a large chunk out of the sheath. The second (replacement) wrapper was a little looser, but based on my previous experience, I looked closely and noticed that every time I opened the wrapper, tiny bits of plastic were cut, ending up in my food.
