If you don't have one and need to cut a pipe this might help. If you anticipate making multiple cuts, need to work in tight spaces, or are looking for a tool for your garage, I'd recommend looking for a clamp type. The chain should be able to cut through the pipe, but it's difficult to squeeze the handles well to clamp the chain. Also, the rubber grips slip off the metal, making the whole process quite frustrating when you're working in tight spaces under a car. If you're cutting new pipe from a mandrel or vise, you probably won't have any major problems with this tool. But on the other hand, in this case you will probably choose high-end tools.
