Very good, yes I know

Surprised me! Very razor-sharp image at approx. 12-14x magnification. Very clear, as if you were actually seeing details of the bark of a rocky tree, not just gradients at 100+ meters. I've compared them alongside my Bushnell Powerview '2' 12x50 binoculars and these tascos are actually slightly sharper and have slightly better color reproduction at 12x. However, the Bushnells had a much broader and more useful field of view. These Tasco zoom binoculars seem to be as bright as my Nikon Aculon with adjustable zoom at 12x. i know but i swear for you it is true. Far better than my BSA and Barska binoculars. Now, at 18x magnification, it quickly blurs, with an even narrower field of view. Eye spread and fine tune the focus wheel for higher magnification, but that never suits me at high magnification. It's just never in focus "enough" for my taste. those 30x are just ridiculous expectations. 14-16x, maybe 18? Mehh, you can get this with decent lenses in bright conditions and they do. As for the price, this is a good deal for its application. Understand that in my opinion this is not for scanning the area, it is too narrow. For example, you will find it difficult to locate the plane. It's like looking through a pipe. For observation in a fixed position, such as with a ground-based telescope, they do an excellent job. but the belt is pretty bad. I find the case only average, but it works. Once again they really impressed me. They are around $30 on sale and I assure you they are NOT 4x worse than my Nikon Aculon Zoom binoculars. maybe 10% less in optics. Durability? Well, time will tell. I've never had much luck with Tasco in years past, thought I'd actually play here but to be honest I really think they're cleaning up to compete with even cheaper imports. A friend of mine recently told me that Simmons bought Tasco a few years ago. If true, that makes sense too, since I always thought Simmons was an order of magnitude larger than Tasco.
