Review on Sylvania PC 55753 26 Watt Compact Fluorescent by Drew Serrano

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ugly to look at

Ugly to look at but perfect for lighting the kitchen or other workspace. They are also too bright when warmed up to be viewed directly. My medium sized kitchen has five recessed ceiling lights that use these types of lights. They make the interior extremely but not overly bright and comfortable to work with, even for tasks that require precision and accuracy. I tried a warmer light color (Sylvania 20879) but quickly reverted to this one (Sylvania 20882). Warm, light colors work well for living spaces, not work spaces. For some reason the U-bend tubes are noticeably thicker than previous lamps of the same designation (although this does not affect the 4-pin connector compatibility). , it's not the cheapest eco-friendly option. Prices for these bulbs haven't come down for many years, despite the ubiquity of CFLs, technological advances and new alternatives. Hence only four stars.
