Review on Charging Controller Protection Undervoltage Automatic by Michael Jennings

Revainrating 5 out of 5

While I like to see the voltage I want to put on, this is .

I use this in my car to unplug my fridge when camping when the battery voltage is too low. I chose this unit from Revain for a number of reasons. 1) The disconnect and reconnect voltages are set by two potentiometers on the board. Most others have DIP switches that force you to use a set of predefined disconnect and reconnect voltages. Others had no adjustment at all. 2) No voltage display. While I like to see the voltage, I plan to place this unit behind the floor panel where my fridge cords enter the fuse box. So there is no real reason to report it. One or the other display uses more power, which leads to more battery drain when the engine is switched off for no real reason. 3) This device can be locked. Connecting two pins on the board inside the white connector overrides the disconnect/reconnect logic and connects the load. Might be helpful for some. I haven't decided yet whether I'll use it or not as I don't see a situation where I want to drain the battery further below my cut off voltage. The type of plug required is indicated on one of the description photos. I ended up ordering one of the Digikeys. The next step is to protect the circuit board from the ground behind the footboard. I am considering getting a small plastic case but haven't found one that will fit. The device is actually very compact. I can just give it a heavy urethane coating and call it good.
