Review on Hydraulic Jack Hood Lift Supports Shocks Springs for Mazda CX-5 2017-2021 - HIGH FLYING Car Accessories by Jason Daves

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They are amazing on my 2021 CX-5. Watch the video to understand the installation.

The first thing I noticed when I brought my new car home from the dealership was when I opened the hood. The support bar was hot (even with the foam padded part where you have to touch it), as was the hood nose, which I had to hold on to to get the bar in place. I don't like how the support rod goes into the hole in the hood as it looks like it will dent the outer skin. It was actually a bit difficult to remove the support bar as it kind of gets stuck there and my hands burn all the time. I needed a better solution so I decided to visit again. I read all the reviews and looked at all the pictures (thanks guys). You should look for a video on You Tube as it shows very clearly how to install this. It's called How to Install Hood Struts on a Mazda and was written by user JagFan Hilton. Before assembly, make sure your ball studs are taped into the nuts on the stem. You want to make sure they can get in and out completely. I lubricated my Loktite just in case. I also checked the compression of the struts before installing them as I've read a lot of reviews about them being stiff and there are concerns about hood flex. They were gone in 15 minutes or less. Let's see how long they last. Racks usually lose their charge after a few years. I love that they can be easily removed if they get in the way and you can always go back to the factory support bar. It was a great deal for the price!
