I've been looking for a cage, muff or tent for the Conner Kennel since we brought him home, but I've read a lot of safety warnings and concerns about thread and problems with birds choking and chewing in cloth muffs Climbing between liners and the like. Then I decided not to take one of the clutch houses because it scared me. I searched everywhere and read all the reviews before finally deciding to buy this tent. At first I thought it was too small but I watched a few videos and they seemed to work for kennels and caiques so I bought it. At first, Conner was a bit intimidated by this, but then he started cumming. to it and poke around in it. On the first day, he tore off the bell and pulled off all the beads on one side. However, he hasn't pulled the skin off the other side and he enjoys chewing on the skin. He untied it multiple times but I just tied it back. He didn't bother the first night, but the second night he slept leaning against the outside of the tent (I had it pulled down). his shelf so that the pole and the bottom of the tent are touching the bottom of his shelf because he would be scared if it "moves" when I hang it up). On the third night he leaned against her in the tent. Today he climbed onto the pole and went inside. He fits in - and there's plenty of room, but at the same time it's tight around him and he feels 'safe'. He's still not completely comfortable sleeping on the perch, but he likes to crawl in and sleep by his side. He hasn't chewed any stuff at all and seems to be enjoying sleeping in the tent. The construction is well made, no dangling threads or anything dangerous. I check it every day for the warnings but it seems really well done and safe. UPDATE: I've had it for about a month, maybe a little longer, and now Conner Conure just LOVES it. He sleeps in it every night. This helped him to self-regulate his sleep-wake cycle. When he gets tired at night, he goes to his "tent" - we call it the bedroom. This keeps him warm and protected from drafts without covering his cage (covered cages are said to damage the respiratory tract of birds, which are particularly irritable when housed). He will sing/talk to sleep in his tent. Sometimes he even lies down, leans against the edge of the tent and "sits" on his shelf. In my case it hangs from the side of its cage rather than from the top so it's more stable and the bottom perch in the tent rests on its shelf. He loves it very much and he hasn't torn it or picked it or anything like that. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a secure tent/muff for their bird. This is a good size for Quakers like persimmons, kennels, ringnecks and cockatiels.
