Has a strange finish: Cutlery and knife accessories

Too bad it doesn't have a finish. Firstly I don't know if the coating is food safe and secondly the cuts are so visible. Looks very worn after a month of use. I like the size and shape but I'm concerned if it's safe to cut food on this board when the coating is about to peel off. I would really like this chopping board to be made out of natural wood.
