Makes wine bitter

My wife and I tried this on 4 different red wines and used the recommended settings each time. We poured one glass through the aerator and another straight from the bottle. In all 4 cases, the wine poured through the aerator was slightly more bitter than straight from the bottle. I guess we'll just go back to old-fashioned decanting.
