Drill bits wear out pretty quickly when drilling agates

I bought these to drill holes in agates to hang on a necklace. I used them in a drill press and put the agate under water while I drilled, working with very little pressure. Bits wear out very quickly. Having no experience with this, I didn't know what to expect and maybe that's exactly what's going to happen.
