I wish I could come back!

Bought these to poke holes in my rocks as people said but couldn't use them. It takes 10 bits to drill a hole! They are covered in a coarse "diamond" abrasive, but it wears away leaving only a small indentation on the stone.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Not the best

Used them to poke a hole through a very hard one.

Used this to drill a hole in a very hard piece of rock to be used for hanging. It took three drill bits to complete this job because the diamond grit at the end of the drill bit was worn out, but I think that's normal with this type of drill bit. You must work slowly and keep the work moist.

Works great on quartz crystals

I wanted to drill holes in quartz crystals with a size 200 Dremel. I have used 1mm and 2mm nozzles and both work great. You MUST use them when wet. I dip the crystals in a bowl under water and drill just below the surface of the water. I also used the side of the bit to flatten the crystal and that worked amazingly too.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Expensive

Drill bits wear out pretty quickly when drilling agates

I bought these to drill holes in agates to hang on a necklace. I used them in a drill press and put the agate under water while I drilled, working with very little pressure. Bits wear out very quickly. Having no experience with this, I didn't know what to expect and maybe that's exactly what's going to happen.

Expect just a few useful bits from the kit

Attempting to drill through two small rocks, 1/4" and 3/8" thick, it took 10 bits to to make a dent at all. On the 11th bit I found one where the coating did not come off immediately and drilled two holes by itself. And yes, I did this in a small tub of water, keeping the bit cold and moving at a moderately slow speed. It worked in the end, but going through 10 bits before you find one that actually works is very frustrating. There are 60 of these in the set, I believe only 3 to 6 of these will

Not for drilling glass - not "drill " at all.

Do not buy these for drilling holes in glass. There's very little abrasive on the tip, and what's there comes off instantly, leaving hardly a scratch on the glass. I use them underwater with light pressure on a drill press. Having drilled holes in glass off and on for decades, I know the tool does the job. These bits are good for widening an existing hole, the abrasive on the sides seems well attached. For holes in glass I prefer a core drill. You get what you pay for with these tools, they are

Used for drilling holes in rock. I like it very much and will order again

I ordered my husband to make holes in the stones so that I can paint them like pendants on a necklace. The final hole size is 3mm or about 1/8 inch. He uses these bits in a dremel tool that is mounted on a stand and he says it works great. He chose to drill the hole in three stages, starting with the smallest diameter, through medium and finally down to 3mm. He said as long as you're patient and don't force it, it does a great job. However, drilling holes in the rocks underwater is necessary to

Complete crap DO NOT BUY FOR DRILLING GLASS

I bought these for drilling stained glass and fused glass, tried 8 pieces from the first box and one from another box, even a 2mm hole didn't start transparent glass (thin and fairly soft glass) rolled onto the surface. I have drilled glass for years and this is not what they describe. I tried scoring the edge of a piece of scrap glass with the coated side of the bat, but that didn't even work. I bought some 1mm bits from another supplier at Revain and they work great and still work great. I…

Variable quality: cutting tools

Like everyone else I bought them because of the low price. I wasn't expecting much in terms of durability so wasn't surprised when two drill bits (2mm) were useless after 2 or 3 holes in shale (from a core sample). But after 20 holes in shale and three holes in amethyst comes the third drill! So I used a 3mm drill and drilled three more holes in the amethyst and this drill still works. I suspect there is no quality control for them at this price point, but even if I have to throw away 1 out of…
