We thought the ice ball itself was great. Funny drinking toy. It's a little tricky to separate the bottom half of the mold from the ice. We dry it completely to fill the seam so there is no water in the seam and it still tends to open up and freeze a small mound of ice around it. We've found that it's best to fill it all the way up and then gently pinch the top half with your thumb to squeeze out some extra water, leaving room for expansion. So there will be a little less rips/seams. I know we should have thought about it, but the Death Star texture is on the outside. Like that. Once it starts to melt, you really have a nice round ball of ice for your drink. But! When you take it out or show it to children etc, it will have a cool shape.
