It's not the moon. in ice cube molds and bowls

I was disappointed. First, they're HUGE - they don't fit in most regular drinking glasses. Second, after several attempts with different water levels, I have not been able to create a frozen Death Star without cracks like the product photos. I laughed, I cried, I kissed $20 goodbye.

Pros
  • Kitchen utensils and gadgets
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

The ice ball is difficult to remove due to the rigidity of the ground

I will experiment with water levels but there are 2 problems with this shape. The bottom half is too thick and stiff, making the ice ball difficult to remove. In addition, a seam is formed around the central hemisphere where the mold halves are joined. So it's not perfect, but I like the idea!

Pros
  • Special tools and jigs
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

and ice with no cracks as shown in promotional photos

Several silicone molds arrived with broken seams which didn't seem to seal very well. And I still haven't figured out the secret of how to get icy Death Stars with well-defined ice, with no bubbles or cracks like the ones seen in the promotional photos. I suspect they work well with jelly, chocolate etc but I was disappointed with ice cream.

Pros
  • Ice cube molds and trays
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

We thought the ice ball itself was great. Funny drinking toy. It's a little tricky to separate the bottom half of the mold from the ice. We dry it completely to fill the seam so there is no water in the seam and it still tends to open up and freeze a small mound of ice around it. We've found that it's best to fill it all the way up and then gently pinch the top half with your thumb to squeeze out some extra water, leaving room for expansion. So there will be a little less rips/seams. I know we…

Pros
  • Kitchen and dining room
Cons
  • Problems
