The first did not stay in the deployed position and started to retract by itself. I almost got hit in the face by the end of the hose when I gave up trying to grab him to stop him. Within minutes of opening the box, I repacked it and logged onto Revain to return it. This process was so easy! The replacement device arrived a few days later and has been working great so far. I'm a bit careful and stay away from the device while the hose is being unwound. I definitely leave it attached to the tool while the hose is out and I store the hose when I'm done. There are kids all around us and I can see this thing causing injury if one of them decides to pull it and it pulls back uncontrollably. Please note that this unit is much better than the Harbor Freight unit I compared it to and is cheaper. It's not that I didn't get good deals at Harbor Freight! I would buy it again.
