Wedge did not fit my gutters which appear to be smaller than average. My gutter is tapering down to 2.5" and the wedge is 2.75" wide so it doesn't reach the ground. Also my downspouts are narrower than a 1.75" roundtail. The tip can be removed but without it could wind or water will move the wedge away from the downspout. The plastic is soft enough to cut with metal snips if you want to try resizing the tail section. The wedge is 9+1/16" x 2+ in diameter 3/4" x 3+5/16" 1+3/4" (13cm x 7cm x 8.3cm; 4.4cm in diameter).
