I bought these after a power outage which made me unsure of my fridge and freezer temperatures. I carefully threw all my groceries out of the fridge. Hoping to avoid a similar scenario in the future, I bought these to track the maximum recorded temperature in my fridge and freezer. My freezer has a temperature alarm but my main fridge doesn't, and the temperature settings are on a numeric scale, not the actual temperature. I've had them for about 4 months now and they're still working great. I haven't had to change batteries yet. I would recommend placing the thermometer at the back of the fridge as it is easily affected by the opening and closing of the fridge doors.
