I'm pretty sure the problem for us is that the underside of our toilet seat isn't quite flat. My husband put them on at night and in the morning I flushed one down the toilet before realizing what was going on. The rest came off easily and didn't leave any glue on the seat. They're just the right height so I might try using a really strong styrofoam tape and see if they stay.
