I can return these but will still describe how they look to me. First impressions are solid: the main parts are aluminum, drilled and tapped for the screws that hold everything together. The locking mechanism for the handlebars consists of aluminium, two concentrically slotted conical shells, with a 5 mm steel screw and a lock nut. Big mirror. not yet satisfied with what I could do. The threaded parts are of mediocre quality and accuracy and do not rotate freely from one part to another. As another example, the included 4mm allen key got stuck in one of the screws when I applied moderate force. When I replaced one of my notoriously good keys, there were no problems except that the force (torque) required to insert or lock something was very high; I would say exaggerated. If the accuracy of the parts was better, this wouldn't have happened. In order to successfully tighten the anchor mechanism at the end of the rudder, it was necessary to liberally lubricate the center pin, spreader shells and the inside of the rudder. Still, I couldn't make a securely locked attachment. Even after trying as hard as I can, the anchor doesn't stay completely in place. The same applies to the clamping part, which is attached with two 4 mm screws and stabilizes the position of the mirror. Again, the force required to reach a near, but still not quite, stable condition was all I could do with standard hex wrenches and seemed relative to the force required to remove threads required in aluminum parts is excessive. I'm not new to cycling. Another disappointment was that the time it took to complete these setups was on the order of an hour for each mirror (pack of two). This included cutting out a metal spacer to stabilize one of the two mirror anchors (but still not entirely adequate). It was supposed to be a 10 minute job max. In fact I also got a mirror today from a competitor who actually had an installation time of under 10 minutes and it reflected the best quality in design and finish as well as strength and adjustability again. it is a mirror. I haven't decided yet if I'd rather return it or take it "as it is". I think any potential buyer should keep these observations in mind.
