Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhance Engine Cooling with Mr. Gasket 2557 O-Ring Style Water Neck for Chevy Engines by John Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I give 4 stars before actually installing and using the product.

Looks pretty high end. Good chrome work. I'll let you know if there are any problems after installation. I was advised to prepare the mating surface with sandpaper and use a gasket in addition to the o-ring provided to ensure a good seal by one person who has used 3 of these in their builds. Bought to add an exhaust valve to the cooling system. Many people have reported leaks in the port. I won't be installing a transmitter, so I'll use thread sealant after repeatedly lowering the fitting into the port. In my private corner of hell. There is no NPT connection size specified in the description or on the packaging so I had to use trial and error to get the correct connection size. Simply measuring the port doesn't help as the NPT size is NOT related to actual sizes. The porthole is actually .720" or 3/4" from the inside edges of the threads with a caliper. Actual NPT size is 1/2 inch NPT. My AC Delco/GM exhaust valve measures .3850" or 3/8" to the end of the threads. Actual size is 1/8 inch NPT. Oye Vay what a hassle. In both cases the ACDelco/GM part number for the bleeder is: ACD #:10070107 The GM number is the same. In summary, you will need a 1/2" NPT fitting and a 1/8" NPT fitting or other shaped adapter to make this possible. I have a brass adapter for my local Ace Hardware fitting, but I'm looking for stainless steel (not cast stainless) so I can polish it to blend with the chrome on the body. Much luck !
