I purchased this set to help with property sales to find stamps and markings on sterling silver and karat gold. Magnification is good at both 30x and 60x. The carrying case is quite durable as it is a hard plastic case with a rubber liner for the lens. The disadvantage of this element is the electrical installation. One LED was fairly bright and worked well throughout. The other has poor electrical contact and flickers. When I checked the battery, the included tool came in handy, but the threads on the battery cover are plastic and fell apart very quickly when trying to unscrew the cover. I cut off the loose threads and was able to put the cap back on, but it was quite difficult. Conclusion: It works pretty well and I would recommend it, but beware of electrical issues.
