Review on Kleinn Air Horns 1023 Panel Mount by Doug Hammett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Worked for my airbag installation

Firestone Ride Rite airbags are rated to a maximum pressure of 100psi. So I went for a bare Airmaxxx panel and this pressure gauge. I ended up cutting the fairing since it didn't match anything I liked and installed it on the side of the shift console that faces the driver. I rotated it so that when the hands are at zero, they are in a straight line away from me and it works decently. I want the yellow needle to be up or a darker color because at an angle it's hard to tell if it's separated from the red by a hair. I bought a fair amount of cheap stuff!) to operate the relay to operate the compressor and also the T-connector for the lightbulb on this meter. So when I turn on the compressor, it lights up and shows me the pressure. That way I didn't have to search for the dashboard power cord and it doesn't have to be constantly lit. Just touch the compressor switch and check the pressure. Note: Be sure to secure the wires near the battery so you don't set your car on fire in the event of a short circuit. So, I've got airbags, two steering column switches, this pressure gauge, a one-way valve, a 12-volt relay, a momentary switch, and a bunch of fittings. There's no need for an air tank as the compressor doesn't need to blow back, and I used a check valve so there's definitely no air blowing back if I push the vanes to inflate without first turning on the air compressor. I also used a tee and fitted one of the Firestone Schrader inflation valves after the check valve so that if the compressor failed I could still use one of the small 12v rails to fill the bags. 4 stars because the clicking to connect the fittings is generally terrible. Measure how far you want the hose to go, lubricate it with some oil and PUSH FIRM! and then hope it's sealed. I've had a couple of leaks from both sides and had to cut the hose (which was only about an inch long to the tee) 3 or 4 times on one side and only twice on the other before I could use soapy water and spraying could not get bubbles. I've had several adjustments other than this one and it's a real pain compared to compression adjustments which seal much better the first time. Valves with compression fittings and no air loss. Throw away the unnecessary connection pressure and get something that works! Well, it still works, but the yellow needle sticks a little when winding or unwinding. Maybe because it's on my airbags and every hit moves the needles compared to the air system where they only move when air is pumped in or out of the tank. Mine has probably made many hundreds of thousands of moves. At the moment I'm looking for a glycerine or oil dual pointer but I don't think they are made. Oops, I'm deducting a star for durability.
