A part broke on the first try. I didn't need it at the height I put in the boat without it. It kept falling off when I moved the lid, what do you have to do to put it on. I ended up installing it and left the lid on when it rained the first time. The second time I went outside it kind of fell off so I had the lake in the boat cover and had to get out. I took the rounded end of a 2x4, wrapped bubble wrap around the rounded end, and screwed the other end onto a piece of 16" x 16" plywood to replace so it wouldn't fall off and keep the lid taut to do the closing let water runoff. Don't waste your money on this junk product like me.
