Review on πŸ”’ Wordlock 4 Dial Combination Bike Cable Lock - 5ft, Black (7.70in. x 6.00in. x 1.30in.) by Chris Brazington

Revainrating 4 out of 5

One of the best combination locks. Key locks are more secure.

This is a good combination bike lock with a fairly strong locking mechanism and cable. Much larger than the slim 1/4" versions you see at some bike shops for about the same price. A bike lock that uses a key instead of a combination is much harder to hit and break. However, this lock offers the Convenience of being keyless, and serves as a good deterrent for the occasional adventurous thief. As an example of how easy it is to pick a bike lock, I had one of those cheaper thin 1/4" versions of the lock - a verbal bike lock which I forgot the access code to and which I was able to remove in 10 seconds with a Dremel tool cutting wheel I suspect it will only take about 10 seconds to remove this lock and most braided wire locks while thick hardened steel locks do need few minutes to remove with Dremel hand tool All bike locks can be removed For more security You should go for a bike lock that uses a key instead of a combination, or better yet, for more expensive bikes and maximum protection, get one of those bulky, hardened thick steel horseshoe-shaped locks. I found this lock to be a good compromise between security, convenience and value for my budget bike.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • Negative impression
