Original review: The gray definitely keeps the sun out and even goes great with my room decor. 4 stars because I didn't get any clips or instructions (good old common sense). After reading many reviews mentioning the bad tape strip, I decided to use command strips to line the upper. A great idea. I bought these blinds to use with my blackout curtains which allowed the sun to penetrate through the top and sides of the curtains as there was nothing on the windowsill. This gives me the complete darkness of the bat cave. The photo, taken at 12 noon on a sunny day, shows the left side with blinds and curtains; Only the right side with blinds. Hope this is helpful.
